Θαύματα (Miracles). My latest series of work created during my time at Skopelos Foundation of The Arts.Fundamentally, the work is centralised around rebirth and hope. And so it pays homage to such miracles, through the marriage between divine beliefs and superstitions, and the Skopelitan culture.
Along with the book, the series also consists of a collection of fabric icon pieces, embossing, Mokulito and Wood cut prints. -

Fabric piece, attempt no 1. Personal icon transfer onto cloth, deriving from Elpis, Eos and the concept of the Phanoutropita.

Attempt no.2 at creating personal icon tranfers onto fabric.
This piece combines factors of Elpis; in text form, sourced from Hesiod's Work and Days. Eos; through stenciled images of the sunrise. The symbol of the Nine Muses, and sketches of constellations are also present, to recognise how the current wave of artistic energy has fuelled a new dawn within myself and my practice.
Coffee again is a continuous factor also, with it's purpose to represent the Greek tradition of the reading of the grinds, in coffee cups in the act of fortune telling. -
